Rose Marie de Reyes, a native of Kansas City, Kansas, studied folk art and related affairs at an early age while yet a student. She directed numerous programs, workshops, fiestas, and recreational activities for universities, civic organizations, culture groups, and performing arts centers.

She studied in Uruapan, Michoacan, Puebla, and Guadalajara with such luminaries in Mexican dance and culture as Bulmero Paleo, Rémon Marones Ortíz, Jesus Daniel Andrade, Forge Carronza Luna, and Benjamin Hernández.

Rose Marie has acted as a consultant or advisor to many institutions regionally, as well as locally, and has been cited by the Southwest Development Corporation, La Sociedad Civico Mexicana Morelos, and El Centor de Services para Mexicanos. In 1969, she was voted the "Outstanding Mexican-American" in Kansas and Missouri.
