Huig Hofman, from Brussels, Belgium, was a new teaching personality on the United States folk dance scene in 1962.

Huig was married; his wife's name was Fina.

He was founder and president of the folk dance movement in Holland and founded the Folk Dance Center of Flanders. He recorded for the Folkraft label.

Huig was decorated by the governments of both Belgium and the Netherlands for his contributions.
