Frank and Jane Tripi Berkeley California Frank Tripi began folk dancing in 1959 in Pasadena California, and danced for several years in the Los Angeles area. He was a member of several exhibition groups including AMAN, Gandy Dancers, and Kitka. He moved to to Central California in 1971.

Frank and Jane Tripi Kapydokya Turkey In 1985 he met Jane in Oakland California and they were married in 1991. He, along with Jane, has also given several dance workshops over the years. He has taught with Jane at festivals and given workshops in a variety of locations including the Camelia Festival in Sacramento and other Federation workshops.

The couple travel regularly to the Scandinavian countries where he earned a silver medal in Sweden. They attend workshops and dance with the local groups in those countries. They have a very successful Scandinavian dance group which meets weekly in Oakland California. He has been teaching the dance group since about 1989. Frank is the Director of Scandia Saturday, a dance event that meets four times a year. He is also a board member of Northern California Spelmanslag, a group that promotes Scandinavian Dancing in the Bay Area, and he has held several offices in several dance groups over the years. Frank has also taught at many Balkan workshops to local groups in both Southern and Northern California.

Jane started folk dancing in 1976. She started teaching Scandinavian dancing in Oakland in 1983. She, along with Frank, has taught at festivals and given workshops in a variety of locations including the Camelia Festival in Sacramento and other Federation workshops. She earned a big silver medal in Sweden for her dancing. She also plays accordion with a Scandinavian musical group called, Nattegal. Jane has gone to Sweden, Norway, or Denmark to workshops on several occasions. She speaks Swedish.

With Frank, Jane has attended many workshops over the years and has exhibited Scandinavian dances to interested audiences. They have a very successful Scandinavian dance group which meets weekly in Oakland California. She has been teaching the dance group since about 1984. She also teaches Balkan dances specializing in Greek to local groups.

Dances Frank and Jane have taught include Atabaks, Finnish Mazurka, Gankino, Kritikos Syrtos, and Stockholm Schottis Mixer.
