A blank page is like an empty floor that calls you to dance.

At times, it is hard to write my next column for Folk Dance Scene. My Two Left Feet feel like Two Blank Feet. The subject seem either not too important or appropriate. Besides, I can't remember if I already covered the subject in one of my many articles.

Today, seems like one of those blank moments and the only thing that comes to my mind is a short poem I wrote after being inspired by Charles Bukowski's short poem called "Bluebird."

I hope this poem will suffice until the Folk Dance Muse decides to dance and visit me soon.

I have a page that's blank and white,
It's calling me to write.
Thoughts floating in my mind
Are fighting to break out.

Memories of early days,
Faded and worn out,
Flicker, hide, and reappear,
As they fight to get out.

The songs I used to sing and hear,
Whimsy, light, and gay
Keep humming their melodies
Dancing to get out.

I wonder if I ever can
Express what's in my heart.
I know it's I who has to fight
To free, and let them out.
